Completing her second ever marathon is Claire with running buddy Helen Baxter. After very little training Claire managed to get round in a very respectable time!

Claire, daughter Hannah and Barry's cousins, Teresa and Sarah completed the 13km walk in memory of Jess. Each km was marked with a photograph of Jess at that age.
Claire turned 50 this year and decided to celebrate with her friends and family with a charity party. Her chosen charities are Fiveways School, Yeovil and Diabetes charities.
In total the night raised over £500. Claire completed her first ever Grizzly which was a gruelling 20 miles along the coast and cliffs from Seaton to Branscombe and back again.

Barry and Claire were invited as Presidents of Chard Rotary Club and The Inner Wheel Club of Chard respectively, to cut the ceremonial ribbon at the relaunch of Cricket St Thomas' newly refurbished Leisure Club.
The people of Chard, Ilminster and the surrounding area were invited to place a star in memory of a loved one upon the tree. Those wishing to could also make a donation to St. Margaret’s Somerset Hospice.
The sum raised was £346.28 with B. Gibbs Funeral Services also pledging £200.00 to make a Grand total of £546.28. Barry and all at B. Gibbs Funeral services would like to take this opportunity to thank all those people who placed a star on the tree and to all those who made such generous donations. A memory tree once again has been errected in our office, members of the public are invited to place a personal remembrance star on the tree to fondly think of lost loved ones.
This Years collection is in aid of St. Margaret's Somerset Hospice. St. Margaret’s Hospice has been at the heart of Somerset’s community for over 35 years, delivering high quality, responsive and compassionate care to patients and their families facing a life-limiting illness. Through their medical expertise, nursing skill and specialist support services, they provide physical, emotional and spiritual care to their patients, their families, carers and friends. The Hospice is dedicated to making each day count for all their patients and their families. So please visit the office to place a star on the tree to remember the loved ones that are no longer with us, and if you can, please make a donation, however small it may be. pictured with Barry & Claire Gibbs is Miss. After intense training Claire completed the London Marathon in 4 hours 50 mins and raised over £2,500 for the childrens disability charity Whizz-Kidz. We would like to thank everyone who helped with her training and donated money to the worthwhile cause.
Barry completed the Mayor’s Christmas Santa run whilst Claire and their daughter Hannah helped marshal to ensure the race was safe as well as fun.
During December we offered the public a chance to put a star on our tree in memory of a loved one and make a donation to the chosen charity if so wished. The final total after we matched the donations came to £900 which all went to The Teenage Cancer Trust, a charity very close to us as a family.
After last years successful event where local children were able to enjoy a safe organised trick or treat evening, we once again opened our doors as one of many business’s offering sweet treats.
We were excited to help out at the Mayor’s community, charity event where a giant waterslide was constructed down through the centre of Chard’s High Street. Not only did Claire enter her bird feeder cross-stitch into the Chard Horticultural and Craft Show she won the Best Craft Item in Show.
As part of a charity event to raise money for essential repairs to St Mary’s Church roof, Barry abseiled down the side of the church.
Chard Town Team put on a great event for the children of Chard where they could safely spend their evening trick or treating. Local businesses opened their doors and we were one of many who joined in.
As a joint event with the mayor, a helium balloon service was held where the public could donate money for a helium balloon in remembrance of a loved one and at the end of the special service everyone ‘set them free’.
